How we work
Our primary requirement for all properties and services is that they are accessible without having to get on a plane. The second requirement is that they can be accessed by public transport. So if you are fed up with flying, are choosing to fly less for environmental reasons or you want to want to leave your car behind and find a more imaginative way to get to your destination, then the places featured on the green escapes site will be for you.
We have also asked the properties and services to fill out a Green Factfile, so if you are really keen to stay somewhere which has minimal impact on the environment, you can find something on this site. We have also rated the properties for their green achievments in 3 bands - gold, silver and bronze - to help you choose places that are exemplary in their efforts.
We provide the contact details for all the accommodation and services on the site. If you would like to book a stay, please contact the owner direct stating that you heard about them from the Green Escapes website. We cannot make a reservation on your behalf.
